TELEPHONE CONNECTION FOR INTERNET USAGE-NEW SCHEME

The following schemes for internet users have been approved. A new connection will be provided to the customers on the following conditions:-

SCHEME 'A'

(a) Monthly rental     - Rs.500/- per month.
(b) Outgoing access only to any ISPs on number 172xxx or 24880000.
(c) No telephone usage charges will be charged but internet usage charges will be payable to ISP as per the existing scheme both for pre-paid and post-paid customers.

SCHEME 'B'

(a) Monthly rental plus usage charges of Rs.700 per month.
(b) Access only to MTNL ISP on 24880000 with unlimited usage.

Other conditions will be as follows:

(a) No installation charges.No instrument to be provided. Subscriber is free to use his own instrument to get facility for incoming calls. O/G access is only for internet on number given above.
(b) Security deposit of Rs.3000/- to be paid in subsequent bi-monthly bills of Rs.1000/-.Thus ,the subscriber can be provided a connection on payment of first installment of Rs.1000/-.
(c) This facility will not be available for internet Kiosks or internet dhabas etc.
(d) Service tax will be extra.

The new scheme will come into effect from the 24 th of November,2003 and will be valid for 3 months. Access to other ISPs will be allowed .The subscriber can migrate from existing plan to new plan in case they have more than 1 telephone.
